VISITOR INFORMATION

Hotel Accomdations
Rooms in the Reno-Sparks area begin filling as soon as the Event is over. While rooms fill early, it is not too late to get a room, as there are a good number of hotels and motels in the area. For information on which hotels have availability, call 1-800-FOR-RENO.

Getting Here and Getting Around
If you are flying in to attend the Event, most hotels offer shuttles from the airport to the hotel (please check with the hotel you will be staying at). Rental cars can get you from one place to the next, but if you are not planning on driving up to Lake Tahoe or Virginia City, and plan on staying in Reno and Sparks, your best bet is to travel by taxi or Citifare bus as general parking at our venues is limited.

Public Transportation
Take Citifare and Sierra Spirit to Hot August Nights. General parking is limited at Event venues, so park your dream machine, avoid the hassle, and enjoy our classic ride. Citifare is the public transit service throughout Reno and Sparks. Sierra Spirit is a free downtown bus service in Reno. A 3-day Citifare pass providing unlimited rides will be on sale at official Hot August Nights merchandise booths. For route and schedule information visit www.rtcwashoe.com or call 775-348-RIDE (348-7433).

Weather
During the Event, weather in the Reno-Sparks area is typically in the 90's during the day and 50's at night. Make sure to bring sunscreen and a pair of comfortable shoes. As the temperature cools at night, it's best to play it safe and also pack a sweater or sweatshirt.

Participating with Your Car
Most Hot August Nights activities are closed and restricted to only registered car participants. Our car participant registration is full for the 2008 Event. To get on a waiting list, please fill out a waiting list application. The is no fee to be on the waiting list. While the majority of activities are open only to registered Hot August Nights participants, we do have pre-kick off activities that are open to non-registered participants.
