2008 OFFICIAL HOT AUGUST NIGHTS
SWAP MEET
Earlier this year it was announced that the Hot August Nights Swap Meet, Car Corral, and Cool Car Showroom contract was awarded to a new contractor, namely, Western Pacific Events/BD Enterprises Motor Sport & Special Event Productions, owned and operated by Bob and Vivian Davies. Since that announcement the rumor mill has run rampant. And to that end let us put the rumor mill to bed.
1. There is ONLY ONE Official and Sanctioned Hot August Nights Swap Meet, Car Corral, and Cool Car Showroom and that is the Hot August Nights Swap Meet Car Corral and Cool Car Showroom that will be held during Hot August Nights at the Reno Sparks Livestock Event Center from Thursday, August 7th through Saturday, August 9th from 7 AM until 6 PM daily.
2. Any other swap meet, car corral, or cool car showroom held in or around the dates of Hot August Nights (or any other date) is not affiliated with, not sanctioned by, nor produced in concert or conjunction with or by Hot August Nights.
3. Any association with or the use of the name Hot August Nights by another swap meet operator will be breach and violation of the use of the name of Hot August Nights, which is federally registered and trademarked.
4. Any use or reference to or of the federally registered Hot August Nights name or its trademark without specific prior written approval for use of same is in strict violation of all federal laws relating thereto, and will be dealt with accordingly under the registered trademark infringement violation of Section 32(1)a) of the Lanham Act, 15 U. S. C. § 11114 (1)a) and a false description or representation in violation of section 43 (a) of the Lanham act, 15 U. S. C. § 1125 (a).
