HAN GLOSSARY

Car Auction
An auction of classic cars.

Controlled Cruise
Organized cruise for registered cars only.

HAN
An abbreviation for Hot August Nights.

Member
Another term for volunteer. Any person 18 years of age or older who wishes to support the goals and objectives of the HAN organization, who has completed and returned the membership application, and has paid the membership dues.

Parade
Registered car participants Grand Finale’ Parade on Sunday in downtown Reno under the Reno Arch while the members are on hand to receive their due thanks from the cars and all our visitors.

Participants
Registered car owners who have paid an entry fee and submitted an application to enter their cars in the many Hot August Nights events. Cars must be 1972 or older American and European classics only.

Poker Run
Organized route that the registered cars follow with stops where each driver draws a playing card. At the conclusion of the route the drivers with the best Poker Hands win cash prizes.

Poker Walk
Organized route that the car participants or the general public (who purchase hands) follow in downtown Reno with stops where each card holder draws a playing card. At the conclusion of the route the players with the best Poker Hands win cash prizes.

RSLEC
Home to the Hot August Nights Swap Meet, the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, is located at the Reno Fairgrounds on Wells Avenue.

RSCVA
Home of the Silver Auctions, the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, is located on South Virginia Street.

Display of classic cars cars.

Venue
A specific location for Hot August Nights events.
