FANTASTIC DIAMOND
Fantastic Diamond, a tribute to Neil Diamond, was formed in 2001, when the lead singer Kevin was discovered as he belted out “Sweet Caroline.” Hogan, who plays acoustic guitar, is backed by five other musicians, sings reminiscent of Neil Diamonds ‘70’s and ‘80’s concerts. The lengthy list of hits fans will enjoy includes: “Song Sung Blue,” “Cherry Cherry,” “Solitary Man,” “America,” and “Cracklin’ Rose.”

ABBACADABRA
A tribute to ABBA, in addition to the layered harmonies, the eight musicians perform live with such instruments as timpani drums, marimba percussion, and the glockenspiel- instruments not typically used in popular music. ABBA’s list of hits are much deeper than most fans expect. Of course you’ll hear “Dancing Queen,” “Fernando,” and “Take a Chance on Me,” but fans will recognize a whole lot more.

PAPA DOO RUN RUN
This California Surf band excels at the vocal harmonies and guitar work that allows them to convincingly cover the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, the Ventures and even the Doobie Brothers. The band formed in 1965 in Cupertino Calif. and over the next three-plus decades they played over 200 times a year, opening for such unknown bands as Van Halen and the Doobie Brothers opened  for them. They have also performed with Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys.

Wednesday, August 5 - Victorian Square, Sparks - 8:15 pm

SATISFACTION
Front-Man Chris LeGrand performs as the flamboyant Mick Jaggar. He and his four band members portray the legendary rock band’s career beginning with the British invasion in the early 1960’s. They follow up with music of such brilliant albums as “Let It Bleed” and “Exile on Main Street” and complete the odyssey with music from “Voodoo Lounge” and “Bridges of Babylon.”

Thursday, August 6 - Grand Sierra Resort - 8:15 pm

KRAIG PARKER
Kraig Parker brings his Las Vegas Style Elvis Presley tribute to the Grand Sierra on for The King Lives-A Legendary Tribute. Parker has the looks, the moves, the vocal range and the stage presence to be called the world’s foremost Elvis tribute performer by the London Times.

Thursday, August 6 - Victorian Square, Sparks - 8:15 pm

SONNY TURNER
Sonny Turner brings his 50-year musical legacy to Sparks, Thurs., Aug 6th at 8:15 pm. At age 19 in 1959, he auditioned as the lead singer for the Platters and got the role. Turner went on to record several Platter hits including “With This Ring,”
“Washed Ashore,” and “I Love You One Thousand Times.” He re-recorded Platter hits such as, “Only You,” Twilight Time,” “The Great Pretender” and “The Magic Touch.”

Friday, August 7 - Grand Sierra Resort - 8:15 pm
Stage Presented by Bank of America

The Temptations Review Starring Dennis Edwards
This act makes its first appearance at Hot August Nights this year on Friday, Aug 7th, 8:15 pm at the Grand Sierra Resort. Dennis Edwards joined the Temptations in 1966. The group’s long list of hits includes “Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “My Girl,” “I Can’t Get Next To You,” and “Papa was a Rolling Stone.”

Friday, August 7 - Victorian Squre, Sparks - 8:15 pm

THE GRASS ROOTS
The Grass Roots takes the stage in Sparks, Aug. 7th at 8:15 pm. Founded in 1966 the band is probably best known for the soaring vocals of lead singer Rob Grill and hits like “Temptation Eyes,” “Let’s Live for Today,” “Midnight Confessions,” and “Baby Hold On.”
 

Saturday, August 8 - Grand Sierra Resort - 8:15 pm
Stage Presented by Full Throttle Performance

THE VILLAGE PEOPLE
The Village People complete the Grand Sierra Resorts week of entertainment on Saturday, Aug. 8th at 7:30 pm. Who hasn’t jumped up at a wedding reception to sing and dance “YMCA”?

Other hits like “Macho Man,” “In the Navy,” and “Go West,” have launched this group into disco icon history.

GARY PUCKETT
Wrapping up the week in Sparks on Sat. Aug. 8th at 8:15 pm is Gary Puckett. His powerful voice catapulted him onto the world stage in 1967. His first five singles went gold, a rare feat, and in 1968 he sold more music than any other act. “Young Girl,” “Woman Woman,” “This Girl is a Woman Now” and “Over You” established Puckett as a rock icon.
